Understanding Surrogacy Expenses

We understand that both fertility and finance are sensitive topics, but we also know they cannot be avoided if intended parents are to achieve their goals.  When it comes to surrogacy, intended parents should have a clear understanding of the costs involved. There are a number of different factors that will affect the total cost of the process, which may vary significantly. This includes how many attempts at implantation are required before the surrogate mother ultimately becomes pregnant or if you require an egg or sperm donor, just as an example.

Typically, the biggest fee associated with gestational surrogacy will be the surrogate’s compensation. The rest of the surrogacy budget will include fees associated with surrogates’ health and psychological screenings, medical procedure fees and screenings for intended parents and surrogate, legal representation for intended parents and surrogate, health insurance premiums for the pregnancy, delivery, and care of newborn(s), as well as the agency fee.

Depending on your choice of a surrogate, outside monitoring, travel and accommodation expenses may also need to be included in your budget.  Should you have any additional questions regarding the costs of utilizing the services of surrogate in your journey to parenthood, please feel free to get in touch with us at your earliest convenience for a personalized discussion.
